Do you ever think you have too many dolls?

I have 12, one less than my age. Sometimes I feel embarassed because I love AG so much but my friends like thats fine.

Personally I think I can have too many. But who am I to say someone else has too many? I mean, if it totally takes over someones life and they have more than a few doll ROOMS, then I might say they are a little obsessed. (obsess much? much too much!) But to each his own. For me, I would prefer to only have the dolls I absolutley love and the part of their collections I love and leave it at that. Im not one to buy something of a historicals that I dont like simply because it is theirs either. I have set a personal limit of 10 dolls and I have only three right now. It all depends on what historicals they introduce over the years for me as the AGTs dont really interest me.

Yeah I know what you mean- sometimes I lose count of them. I will still get more- as more come out- just need to make more room. he he Some may have to stay asleep in there beds...

I was dressing my modern dolls last week and thought that I really had too many dolls. I still need to change all the historical dolls except Kirsten, she is dressed for school. I then ordered the Laylie from A Life of Faith. That was bad enough until last night. I was on the Martha Pullen site to order lace for a Heirloom Sewing class that I am taking and I saw that the Martha Pullen signed Lilith doll was reduced over $100! I have wanted her for over a year so yes, Lilith will be living with us also.

In my opinion, the easiest way to tell if you have too many dolls is: do they have dust on them? If you're actively playing with the dolls (if young) or changing the clothing, etc. (as an adult), and they aren't collecting dust, then you don't have too many! [img]biggrin.gif[/img]

(By this definition I have too many, because mine often are in the same clothing for a year or more, and are just for display.)

I try to change my dolls four or five times a year. About half of my dolls have dust on them. I don't play with my dolls anymore but I try not to keep them in dusty areas of the house.

As of right now, I would actually have to say yes... only because I dont have the room to display them! I still try to give attention to each one when I can, however I still have a few that are mint-never removed from box that just sit in the boxes because of value issues, etc.... and because I have no where to put them! [img]smile.gif[/img] Hopefully when my boyfriend and I get our house, we will have a guest room where we can display our collections proudly, and with room to do so! [img]smile.gif[/img]
